Summary: – Sainik School Imphal (wiki) is a residential English medium school established on 7 October 1971 in Imphal, Manipur by the Government of India. It is one of the 33 Sainik Schools of India. It is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education and is a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC). The school mainly prepares boys for entry into the National Defence Academy after completion of studies at the senior secondary level.
The administration of Sainik School is vested in an autonomous body known as the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence, India. Sainik Schools Society is headed by the Board of Governors under the Chairmanship of Raksha Mantri (Union Minister of Defense). The Chief Ministers/Education Ministers of the state where the Sainik School is located, are ex-officio members of the Board of Governors. There is a Local Board of Administration for each school with a senior defense service officer as its Chairman. The General Officer Commanding of 57 Mountain Division is the Chairman of the Local Board of Administration of the school.
Sainik School Imphal is located at Pukhao road which is around 8 kilometers (5.0 mi) from Imphal. The school has well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and Libraries. Essential Qualification:
- Candidates should possess professional qualification of B.Ed as on the last date of submission of application.
- Should have studied any of the following in Graduation: –
(a.) History with at least 50% marks in aggregate and one subject out of Geography/Economics/Political Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate and also at least 50% marks in graduation.
(b.) Geography with 50% marks with History/Economics/ Political Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate and also at least 50% marks in graduation. - Desirable:
(i) Experience working in an English Medium residential school.
(ii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
(iii) Higher qualification and achievements in NCC/Sports/Co & Extracurricular activities, etc.
(iv) Proficiency in teaching in English medium.
(v) Pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET/STET) in accordance with the guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.
