Summary – G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBPNIHE) is a premier autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. The Institute is a focal agency to advance scientific knowledge, to evolve integrated management strategies, demonstrate their efficacy for conservation of natural resources, and ensure environmentally sound development in the entire Indian Himalayan Region (IHR).

The Institute works under decentralized set-up with its Headquarters at Kosi-Katarmal (Almora), Uttarakhand and through regional centers at Srinagar-Garhwal (UK), Kullu (HP), Pangthang – near Gangtok (Sikkim), Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Leh (Ladakh), and 6th unit in Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change at New Delhi as Mountain Division.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:-

Driver – (i) Possession of a valid driving license for motor cars. (ii) Knowledge of motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle); (iii) Experience of driving a motor car for at least 03 years. (iv) Pass in 10th standard.

AGE LIMIT:-

Minimum Age 18 Years.
Maximum Age Limit 25 Years.

1. Junior Project Fellow – First-class Master’s degree in Geology, Geography, Hydrology, Remote Sensing/ GIS/ Environmental Science/ Physical sciences, or relevant disciplines.

GBPIHED Recruitment – Education Qualification:-

1. Scientist Fellow – The candidates should have acquired a Ph.D. Degree in Environmental Science/ Geography/ Geology/ RS&GIS/ Forestry/ Life Sciences (Botany/Zoology).
Desirable experience – Experience of working in the hilly region of the Himalayas. Preference will be given to the candidates having work experience in the field of RS&GIS.

2. Junior Project Fellow – The candidates should have acquired First Class Masters’s degree in Geography/ RS&GIS.
Desirable experience – Experience of working in the hilly region of the Himalayas.

3. Field Assistant – The candidates should have acquired Graduate, B.Sc., B.Com, B.A, or equivalent from a recognized university/ Institute.
Desirable Ex – Working experience in the Higher Himalaya.

Age Limit:

For Post 1 – Candidates age limit should not be more than 45 years as of 08/02/2019.
For All Other – Candidates age limit should not be more than 28 years as of 08/02/2019.

– Relaxation in upper age will be applicable as per the Government of India Reservation Policy.
