History:- The Calcutta High Court is the oldest High Court in India. It has jurisdiction over the state of West Bengal and the Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The High Court building’s design is based on the Cloth Hall, Ypres, in Belgium. The court has a sanctioned judge strength of 72.
The Calcutta High Court is one of the three High Courts in India established at the Presidency Towns by Letters patent granted by Her Majesty Queen Victoria, bearing date June 26, 1862, and is the oldest High Court in India. It was established as the High Court of Judicature at Fort William on July 1, 1862, under the High Courts Act, 1861, which was preceded by the Supreme Court of Judicature at Fort William.

Calcutta High Court Vacancy – Education Qualification:-
candidates should have passed the 8th class, Must have knowledge of reading and writing Bengali and English.
Age Limit:
The candidate’s minimum age limit should be 18 years and the upper age limit should be 40 years as of 01-01-2018.
– Relaxation in upper age will be 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for physically handicapped persons, and as per rule for ex-servicemen.
Calcutta High Court Vacancy – Fee:
The application fee for Group D Posts candidates should have to pay Rs. 400/- (Four Hundred Rupees Only) for General categories and Rs. 150/- (One Hundred Fifty Rupees Only) for SC/ ST (West Bengal Only). For payment of fees through the Debit Card of any bank, a “bank charge” is not required to be paid. For other modes of online payment of fees necessary bank charges, as applicable, are required to be paid.
